Indiana Real Estate License Requirements
Indiana Sales Associate
- be at least 18 years of age and a resident of the United States
- has never, either directly or through a corporation or other entity, had a professional or business license suspended or revoked
- have not been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony
- have successfully completed courses in the principles, practices, and law of real estate, totaling eight (8) semester credit hours, or their equivalent, as a student at an accredited college or university or have successfully completed an approved salesperson course
- Apply for a license by submitting the application fee prescribed by the commission and an application
- Pass a written examination prepared and administered by the commission or its duly appointed agent
- Submit not more than one year after passing the written examination
Continuing Education
To renew a broker or salesperson license each individual has to complete 16 hours the approved education requirement before the end of each 2 year cycle. Sales Associate licenses expire on June 30 of even numbered years, and brokers expire June 30 of odd numbered years. The 16 hours is broken down as 6 hours of REQUIRED training (in 3 different subject areas for 2 hours each), and 10 hours of elective training.

- Civil rights law
- Agency law
- Listing contracts and purchase agreements
- Indiana Ethics and professionals standards (our Ethics course is 2hr "required", 3hr "elective"
- Settlement procedures
- Other courses approved by the commission
